TROtt message to volunteers – COVID-19

Attention volunteers,

As you know, Canada has identified cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). This was not unexpected and reflects that our health systems are on alert and taking steps to limit the spread of the disease in Canada.

TROtt’s priority is the health and safety of its staff, volunteers, clients and their families. In alignment with recently announced Ontario public school closures, lessons set to begin on March 23 are cancelled until April 5 in an effort to limit the spread of COVID-19 in our community.

We are closely monitoring advice from Ontario’s public health authority and Canada.ca/coronavirus, the primary authoritative source of information on COVID-19 for all Canadians. We will keep you informed as the situation evolves.

In the meantime, as day-to-day operations at TROtt continue, we ask that you:

  • use the hand sanitizer provided when entering and leaving the barn;
  • wash your hands frequently with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds;
  • practice proper cough and sneeze etiquette (e.g., sneezing or coughing into your elbow);
  • avoid tacking up in close proximity to other riders; and
  • not come to the barn within 14 days of returning from international travel.

We also ask that you self-monitor your health for possible symptoms of COVID-19. These include:

  • fever;
  • cough;
  • difficulty breathing;
  • pneumonia in both lungs.

If you become ill, please do not come to the barn. Call your health care provider or public health authority and follow their instructions. Please also notify Fiona Kearney at 613-821-1844.

Visit the prevention and risks section of Canada.ca/coronavirus or contact the COVID-19 information line at 1-833-784-4397 for more information.

Thank you for your cooperation,

Fiona Kearney

TROtt message to clients – COVID-19

Dear valued client,

As you know, Canada has identified cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). This was not unexpected and reflects that our health systems are on alert and taking steps to limit the spread of the disease in Canada.

TROtt’s priority is the health and safety of its staff, volunteers, clients and their families. In alignment with recently announced Ontario public school closures, lessons set to begin on March 23 are cancelled until April 5 in an effort to limit the spread of COVID-19 in our community. You will soon receive a revised invoice reflecting this change.

We are closely monitoring advice from Ontario’s public health authority and Canada.ca/coronavirus, the primary authoritative source of information on COVID-19 for all Canadians. We will keep you informed as the situation evolves.

While lessons are cancelled out of an abundance of caution, operations must continue at TROtt to care for our special horses. As with many local charities, this uncertain time will be difficult for us. Your generous support is needed— and greatly appreciated— to ensure we can continue to keep our unique programs running.
