Enjoyment – Achievement – Challenge
Enhancing quality of life for people with disabilities through accredited therapeutic horseback riding and other horse-assisted programs.
The Therapeutic Riding Association of Ottawa-Carleton (TROtt) is a registered charity where children and adults with disabilities have a great time, while gaining the physical, mental and cognitive benefits of evidence-based activities with horses. With the help of our specially trained horses and over 100 wonderful volunteers, our certified staff provide accessible and inclusive riding and non-mounted programs for people with a variety of physical, mental, developmental and learning disabilities.

What’s Happening
Join Our Great Team Of Volunteers
Our volunteers make it all happen! Through activities such as walking beside a rider or calling out locations for visually impaired riders, volunteers make it possible for us to accommodate a range of abilities. Volunteers also help in other roles, from exercise riding to communications. In 2022, over 100 volunteers contributed more than 7,000 hours on all aspects of our work.
